Job Description

Jeanne and her small team manage the administrative running of the Nursery including finance, clientele and compliance with legislation. Jeanne, who is partially sighted, plans the curriculum for each session and ensures that the health and safety, comfort and stimulation of each child is provided at all times.
 

Getting the job

Jeanne is professionally qualified as a Nursery Nurse. On leaving college, she applied for several roles as a Nursery Nurse in various locations, but was frequently unsuccessful. She therefore began child minding and leading a playgroup at her house to build up a clientele.

Adjustments

Jeanne has an understanding team together with a scanner and speech software on her PC to assist her with reading planning material, completing client registration and sorting financial matters. To ensure that the children are safe, there is always a sighted member of Jeanne's team present.
