AGE Platform Europe and the European Youth Forum will hold a roundtable at the European Parliament (Room A5F385) to discuss the way forward to tackle ageism at EU level.
Ageism can be experienced both in young and older age; we are all likely to face it at some point in our life. Similarly to the intersectional approach adopted during the #AgeingEqual campaign, this event will be another occasion to acknowledge that combatting ageism should be of our collective effort to address multiple discrimination.
Taking place in the frame of the 70th anniversary of the signature of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, this event aims to recall that human rights are equally valid no matter what age we are. It will be the occasion to present the results of the #AgeingEqual awareness-raising campaign initiated last 1st October and to discuss a few concrete initiatives (proposed in the concept note attached) to tackle ageism at EU level. Given the intersectional approach taken during the campaign and your active involvement in different thematic weeks, we would be pleased to have you around the table to participate in the discussions.
Please note that this meeting is on invitation only.
This invitation can however be forwarded to the person(s) of your organisation that you will consider best placed to attend and contribute to our exchanges. Seats being limited, we kindly invite you to register online.
