The VIII ICEVI East European Conference is organized by the International Council for Education and Rehabilitation of People with Visual Impairment, Europe (ICEVI-Europe) with the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation and the Yuri Gagarin State Technical University of Saratov. 

Participants of Conference: national representatives of ICEVI East European countries, professionals, non-commercial organizations, parents and students of higher, general secondary and vocational education from different countries, equipment manufacturers of goods for disabled people.

The Theme of the Conference is devoted to the problems of education and rehabilitation of people with Visual Impairments and is formulated as "Accessible environment for disabled people (technological and social contexts of inclusion in the context of convention on rights of people with disabilities)".

The aim of the Conference is to find modern technological and social means for the education and rehabilitation of people with Visual Impairments and other disabilities, and to alleviate the barriers to inequality in society.

Programme Committee includes all the national representatives of ICEVI East Europe. 

Scientific Committee is headed by the vice-president of ICEVI- Europe, Andrea Hathazi and the Dean of Special Pedagogy of SSU - Ravil Shimionov. 

The Place of Conference: Yuri Gagarin State Technical University of Saratov, Saratov, Russia.

Accommodation of participants: hotels and hostels next to the university. Structure of Conference: education and rehabilitation; socio-psychological aspects, technologies and information management of accessible environment; educational programmes of rehabilitation with physical education.

Working languages of Conference: Russian and English. Communication is to be realized by the contact group of interpreters of English, French, Spanish and German.

Transfer of participants is to be done by the group of volunteers. 

Conference fee.   The registration fee of EUR 15 (members of ICEVI-Europe) / EUR 20 (non-members of ICEVI-Europe) is paid by the participants who have registered for participation in the academic sections and whose papers are accepted for publication. Registration fee includes coffee breaks and conference materials- a conference program, a notebook, a USB flash drive with conference materials, a university plan, a map of the city with the location of the university, Saratov museums, university museums, and convenient bus routes.

Call for Papers

Abstract of the paper no more than 500 characters is loaded into the corresponding field at our web-site of the registration form in Russian or English.

The text of the paper no more than 6000 characters is loaded into the corresponding field of the registration form in Russian or English.

The text should have the first and last names of each author and the title of the paper. For postgraduate students (undergraduates) it is necessary to specify the scientific supervisor, his/her name and initials, academic rank.

Reference list (do not repeat the sources) is made at the end of the text in alphabetical order under the title "Reference list". References are indicated in text by square brackets showing the number of source list and through a comma - page number, e.g. [3, p. 111].

Each participant of the conference can personally make only one publication and one more – in co-authorship. The material in co-authorship is presented in a separate file and is indicated by the name of the first author. The texts papers submitted for publication are subject to review. If the texts do not correspond to the subject of the conference, contain borrowed information without reference to the original source and are discriminatory, then the report paper will not be accepted for publication and the author will informed on this situation by mail. 

The deadline of Abstract Submission is July 1, 2018.

The Date of Notification of Acceptance / Rejection is one week after receipt.

The deadline of Paper Submission is August 1, 2018.
