EBU Commission for Liaising with the EU
The Commission represents EBU's interests at EU level and ensures an effective
linkage to the institutions of the European Union and to the European
Disability Forum. The two major strands of action are:
1. to monitor EU political and legislative developments affecting the disabled, with particular regard to visually impaired people;
2. to seek financial support from the appropriate EU budget lines in order to carry out projects for the blind and partially sighted and their organisations.
Although membership of the Commission is open only to national organisations of the blind in member states of the EU and EFTA, its action reaches beyond EU boundaries to impact on geographical Europe as a whole.
