PROGRESSWith financial support of the European Commission under the Community Programme for Employment and Social Solidarity (PROGRESS), EBU carried out in 2007 a programme of activity "Non discrimination and equal opportunities for all in employment, social solidarity and active inclusion of persons with a visual impairment in Europe". The programme focuses on four key areas : employment, mobility and access to transport, access to technology, and the UN Convention, with particular emphasis on capacity building. A fact-finding survey on the situation of blind and partially sighted people in the 27 EU Member States was conducted, and several publications were produced as part of the communication strand of the programme.
