Conference interpreter

Job Title

Conference interpreter

Job Description

Francis works as a freelance conference interpreter for the European Union. He is in a cabin next to the conference room and simultaneously translates what the orator says into another language.

Getting the job

Francis studied interpreting at university. In order to maintain his vocabulary and general knowledge up to date, he always listens to magazines on cassettes and to the radio.

Adjustments

In general, there is no need for special adjustments. However, sometimes for documents provided during the conference, it would be useful to have a reliable scanner. For the moment, Francis compensates this with his experience and vocabulary tables built up throughout the years.
