Job Description
Teresa provides translation services/interpretation at conferences. She also
drafts academic/scientific speeches and reports. Her studies of ancient
languages and the resultant modern language families enables her to classify
languages and contribute to grammar books, dictionaries etc. on the evolution of
words.
Getting the job
The job requires a degree in the relevant subject: philology, interpretation and
translation. Computing skills are required and experience in a similar post is
an advantage.
Adjustments
Teresa, who is visually impaired, uses an Optical Character Reader,
screen-reader software, magnifier, TV screen magnifier and a 4-track tape
recorder.
