Job Description
Jean-Yves’ work consists of many repetitions, some lessons of harmony and
improvisation and about 20 concerts a year. He also composes and makes
arrangements of known compositions. Apart from Jazz, he also plays blues, salsa,
and French chanson.
Getting the job
Jean-Yves had a classical music education in Nantes.
Then he discovered jazz. He spent some years playing variety music at night
before he started following his passion and improvising.
Adjustments
He first was very reluctant to technology but found out it allowed blind
musicians to move on and communicate with other musicians, especially in the
field of composition.

Passion is the most important thing. Don’t hesitate to try out many different
things, nobody else but you can know what suits you. Passion has to be stronger
than trends or the pressure from surroundings.
