Radio presenter
Job Title
Radio presenter
Job Description
Christian has been a radio presenter for 15 years. When he started this job, he was also responsible for handling the disks and cassettes with music, advertisements, interviews and taking online phone calls. All these tasks are computer-driven now, but the software is not accessible to the blind.
Getting the job
Christian took a one year course in a radio school. This allowed him to enter the world of the sighted, but although he has been on radio for 15 years, he always feels he is sitting on an ejector seat.
Adjustments
He has never had any adjustment until now. But since computers have invaded the radio world, he relies on an assistant for the technical part. He says that if blind people prove to be capable and convincing, radios will be keen to make their computers accessible.
Quote
You need to contact small radios first, then head for the big ones. Your greatest emotions will be those special moments when auditors taste every single word that you say and communicate it to you.
