Age-related sight-loss - 'Nothing About Us Without Us'
Thanks to the progress of medical science, people are living longer, and generally better, lives than at any time in the past. However this increased life-expectancy does bring its own problems, not the least of which is age-related sight loss.
EBU has therefore produced a video highlighting this issue in straightforward terms
Some of the things that can be easily put into place are
- working in partnership with older peoples organisations to develop mutually beneficial programmes to reach more people affected by serious sight loss in older age
- valuing the contribution that older people can bring to society
- engaging with younger people offering mentoring support
Foresight today means more sight tomorrow!
