News from the Van Gogh Museum.

Are you planning a city trip to Amsterdam this summer? Don't miss the Van Gogh Museum. You can now ‘see' Vincent van Gogh's artworks through touch: the museum has a special programme for blind and partially sighted visitors called Feeling Van Gogh. It consists of an interactive guided tour and a multi-sensory workshop. You can book the programme with your own group. It is available in English, French or German.

Specially trained guides take you on a tour through the museum, explaining Van Gogh's story by means of the paintings from the permanent collection. Next, a workshop will take place in a studio, equipped for this purpose: Van Gogh's works can be explored by way of premium quality 3D reproductions of Van Gogh's paintings, simplified tactile graphics and a model of the famous painting The Bedroom.

Furthermore, the senses are stimulated by the scent of lavender from the south of France or a touch of absinthe, and quotes from Van Gogh's letters that are read out loud.A visually-impaired visitor examining a tactile painting.
