Montenegro - international conference on Marrakesh Treaty

The Union of the Blind of Montenegro organised an international conference " Marrakesh Treaty and its benefits for persons who are blind, visually impaired, or otherwise print disabled“", which was held in Podgorica, on Thursday 28th February.

The International Conference is part of the project "Easier Way to the ratification of the Marrakesh Treaty in the Western Balkan Countries" funded by the European Blind Union, through its Solidarity Fund. Partners in the project were the Unions of the Blind of Albania, Macedonia, Serbia and Republic of Srpska. During the project, we have implemented many activities. We have presented the importance of the Marrakesh Treaty to all stakeholders in the country. Round tables were held in Skopje, Banja Luka, Belgrade, Podgorica. A video spot was made about the importance of the Marrakesh Treaty.

The International Conference gathered representatives of the European Blind Union, representatives of partner countries in the region, as well as representatives of institutions closely related to the issue of the Marrakesh Treaty and its ratification.

By the end of the year, Montenegro should ratify the Marrakesh Treaty,  and we hope that other Western Balkan countries will have ratification in the coming period.
