Since its foundation in 1930, the Association of the Blind of Armenia has consistently paid attention to the development and distribution of sports accessible to the blind, that is, urban and republican championships of chess, 64 and 100 checkers, and track and field are regularly held.
Athletes of the Association of the Blind of Armenia became winners and prize-winners in European and World track and field championships. The rollerball team has always won high places in the tournaments held in the Soviet Union. In recent years, the association of the blind has also started holding women's and men's table tennis championships for the blind, "What, where, when՛՛ intellectual game-competitions, which today are very popular among the blind.
