EBU ‘GEAR’ CONFERENCE
In 2018 EBU implemented a four-year activity, called GEAR - Gender Equality Awareness-Raising.
14 - 16 June in Malmö (Sweden) the biggest event of this project will take place. It is the GEAR conference.

Electric Scooters arrive in Oslo
Suddenly it seems like electric kick scooters for rent are everywhere in Oslo. They arrived with spring in the beginning of April and took the city by surprise.
A tandem ride across two continents to promote sport for the blind
Davide Valacchi, a 28-year-old man from Bologna, Italy, has been blind since the age of 9. Yet, with the help of his friends Michele Giuliano, a 37-year-old professional chef, and Samuele Spriano, a 25-year-old martial arts student and trainee, he was able to plan and implement an intercontinental awareness-raising sport challenge called “I to eye”: a tandem journey across thirteen countries and two continents, from Rome to Beijing.
Aberdeen (Scotland) ‘sim-spec’ walk
Aberdeen councillors walked along the city's Broad Street on Thursday, May 9th wearing spectacles that simulate different sight loss conditions.
The organisers of the event, the charities RNIB Scotland and Guide Dogs Scotland, wanted to give councillors from all parties a chance to experience getting out and about with a visual impairment.

WBU-ICEVI General Assemblies
The World Blind Union (WBU) and the International Council for Education of People with Visual Impairment (ICEVI) will be holding their third Joint General Assemblies in Madrid, Spain on 19-24 June 2020. The Joint General Assemblies conducted in Bangkok (2012) and Orlando (2016) highlighted the synergy between WBU and ICEVI and we are together again, this time with ONCE, promoting the rights of persons with visual impairment.
