The EBU final conference entitled 'An Inclusive Europe: Persons with Disabilities, a Positive Human Capital in Today's Society', funded under the PROGRESS programme, took place in Vienna on 11th to the 14th of November 2010.

The final seminar of the PASSEMPLOI project entitled 'Visual deficiency and employment: succeeding together' took place in Paris on Friday the 24th and Saturday the 25th of September 2010.

It is a challenge to give a faithful description of the situation for visually impaired youth in the labour market. There are several reasons for this, but central to the issue is the lack of reliable statistics. Very few countries have statistics specifically depicting the situation of the visually impaired, and aggregated statistics for Europe are difficult in most fields because of the variety of definitions used in the different countries.
