Sensnet - (Erasmus+ KA2 Strategic Partnership)

(European learning academy of professionals working with older people with sensory impairments)
SENSNET is a project aimed at creating a European Academy that will design, develop, collect, test and valorise an innovative training pathway that will be tailored to the specific needs of professionals who work with people with sensory impairment (vision and/or hearing).
The largest cause of sensory impairments is the ageing process.
Rising life expectancy and increasing numbers of older people in the population in Europe means a growing number of individuals is affected by visual and hearing impairments.

The key challenge related to the quality of life of older people with sensory impairments is the training and the skills of professionals working in care situations. Thus the main target group of the project is workers at day care centres for older people, geriatric social workers, care workers for seniors, therapists for seniors, GPs, nurses, home-visiting care workers and other professionals that provide services to support people with sensory impairments.

The intellectual outputs of the project are the following:

  • Methodological guide
  • Training materials
  • Online learning platform
