EBU awarded an accessibility diploma

EBU was one of more than thirty companies and institutions to be awarded a certificate for their initiatives and projects to improve universal accessibility and care for people with disabilities. The diplomas, awarded by Spanish technology company ILUNION Technology and Accessibility, were presented at a ceremony attended by the Director of Disability Support Policies, Jesús Celada, the Director of Universal Accessibility and Innovation of the ONCE Foundation, Jesús Hernández, and the executive director of the Spanish Committee of Representatives of People with Disability (CERMI), Pilar Villarino.

The managing director of ILUNION Technology and Accessibility, Ana Uruñuela, was in charge of welcoming the representatives of this group of corporations and entities, to whom she thanked her commitment to what the United Nations (UN) considers a right fundamental for people with disabilities: accessibility.

"It is very stimulating to see that more and more companies, public entities and corporations are looking for integral solutions to promote the development of accessibility in all possible areas and that technology, well used, makes this task easier every day," she said.

In her speech, Ana Uruñuela was accompanied by the robot Paca (Personal Accessible Cognitive Assistant), the latest commitment of ILUNION Technology and Accessibility to making environments more accessible.

After greeting the attendees and ensuring that he/she was the best person to be on the spot, Paca pointed out that "I can make life easier for all people with disabilities", by interacting "in a multichannel way...while with people with blindness I use my voice, with people with deafness I use the screen on my chest".
