Portugal – ACAPO Congress

On April 11, 12 and 13, 2019, ACAPO will hold its II Congress and 1st International Congress on Visual Impairment at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in Lisbon.

Carried out in the framework of the 30th anniversary celebrations of ACAPO, the Congress, whose theme is "Inclusive Society + Responsible Participation = FULL CITIZENSHIP", aims to take stock of the situation of visually impaired persons and the policies related to them, to look to the future, helping to define options and propose improvements.

Focusing on the Portuguese situation, while taking into account, for a complete contextualization, analysis of other contexts and contributions, the initiative will count on the participation of a significant group of national and international experts.

Seeking to produce a globalizing vision about visual impairment and related policies, based on a pluralistic and widely-shared approach to the issues under analysis, the Congress is open to participation by all. Thus, interested persons may submit to the Scientific Committee of the Congress the communications that they deem pertinent, to which, provided that merit recognized by said Commission, time will be granted to be exposed during the sessions.

The 1st International Congress on Visual Impairment / 2nd Congress of ACAPO counts on the high sponsorship of His Excellency the President of the Republic.
