Vision Ireland initiative shaping the future of accessible transport wins global award.

People with disabilities in Ireland continue to face avoidable barriers in transport hubs, public buildings and everyday navigation, but an Irish-led accessibility initiative has now received global recognition for proving that those barriers can be designed out rather than worked around.

Vision Ireland and The Wayfinding Centre have been named 2026 United Nations Zero Project Awardees, placing Ireland among a select group of global innovators advancing the rights of people with disabilities through practical, scalable solutions.

The Zero Project Award, presented annually at the United Nations in Vienna, recognises initiatives that advance implementation of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and demonstrate measurable impact in advancing inclusion.

Vision Ireland is only the third Irish organisation ever to receive the Zero Project honour, marking a significant milestone for disability innovation in Ireland.
