Members Webinar: Get to Know the Future Host of the EBU General Assembly

The EBU interactive Members Webinar series continues this June with a special edition: an opportunity to discover the Swiss Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired (sfb) and to get a first glimpse of the organisation that will welcome the next EBU General Assembly to Zurich in October 2027.

The webinar takes place on 9 June 2026, from 14:00 to 15:30 (CET), online via Zoom, and is open to all EBU members, friends, and colleagues.

With 115 years of history, sfb is the largest national self-help organisation for blind and partially sighted people in Switzerland. Operating under the umbrella of the Swiss National Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired (SNAB), sfb's mission is to defend the rights of visually impaired people, promote their independence, and support their full participation in social, cultural, and professional life. It delivers a wide range of services (from social counselling and assistive technology to cultural access and daily-life support) while also carrying out advocacy and awareness-raising work with public authorities across the country.

The session will give participants a comprehensive introduction to the Swiss blind and partially sighted landscape, with time dedicated to good practices, current challenges, and advocacy activities. A dedicated slot will allow sfb to share a preview of the 2027 EBU General Assembly in Zurich (making this a particularly timely webinar for anyone curious about the next GA host city and organisation.)

The session will close with a Q&A, giving participants the chance to engage directly with sfb representatives.

This webinar series, introduced as part of EBU's four-year strategic plan, exists to foster collaboration, share knowledge, and strengthen ties between member organisations. Each edition is a chance to learn from peers across Europe and to build the connections that make the EBU network stronger.

Mark your calendars, share the link with your colleagues, and come ready with questions. For more information or to take part in a future edition, contact: membership@euroblind.org
