We want more women leading. The doors to leadership don't open on their own, though. Sometimes you knock, sometimes you build a ramp, and sometimes you carve out a whole new door.
Join us for a lively EBU webinar titled:
Blind and Partially Sighted Women Opening Doors to Leadership
16 November, 17:00 – 18:30 CET
Meet the speakers
Haben Girma (United States) is a human rights lawyer and the first Deafblind person to graduate from Harvard Law School. She's the author of the bestselling book Haben: The Deafblind Woman Who Conquered Harvard Law, and in 2026 France named her a Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters.
Bárbara Martín Muñoz (Spain) is EBU's First Vice President. A partially sighted lawyer from Granada, she leads ONCE's unit for institutional agreements and external collaborations, after more than a decade at the helm of ONCE's European affairs office. She has been part of EBU's leadership since 2015. She loves playing castanets in her free time, playing in concerts occasionally.
Together, they'll discuss:
1. The lived experiences of blind and partially sighted women leading: the barriers, and how to break through them.
2. Pathways to leadership.
3. Tools, practices and initiatives that open doors to leadership roles.
4. Practical moves for organizations, policymakers and advocates.
In the spirit of opening doors, we're handing you the keys. When you register, send in your questions for Haben and Bárbara in advance. Your questions will shape the discussion, so you help lead this webinar. During the live, interactive exchange, you can also share your stories and ideas with the speakers.
