Accessibility

The long way towards a fully accessible world: Accessible EU hosts a hybrid event about the European Accessibility Act

28th June 2025 marked the deadline for implementing the European Accessibility Act. Even if it serves as a good starting point for establishing accessibility standards in the products and services covered by the Directive, its effective implementation across the EU is still far from being complete. That was the overall message that was conveyed during the AccessibleEU hybrid event on 3rd July in Brussels.

Protecting our consumers’ rights in the banking domain: EBU co-organises an event on accessible financial services

Citizens with disabilities must be considered in the process of conceiving optimal consumer services. This includes banking and finances, which have gone through many changes from the consumer’s perspective over the last decades. However, this transformation requires the input from people with disabilities so everybody can enjoy their rights on an equal basis with others. The AccessibleEU consortium, alongside the European Blind Union and the European Banking Federation (EBF), conveyed that message during a hybrid event organised in EBF’s headquarters in Brussels on July 1st.
